Energy and Water Balance Monitoring System (EWBMS)

EARS is operating receiving facilties for Meteosat/MSG over Africa and the Indian Ocean, and for FengYun-2 and MTSAT over Eastern Asia. Visual and Thermal Infrared Data are received hourly. The data are processed in two processing lines as shown above. Continental scale data fields are produced every day at 3-5 km resolution.

The following climatic data can be provided for any geographic location on the continent:

#  Boundary layer air temperature

#  Air temperature at observation height

#  Global radiation

#  Net radiation

#  Actual evapotranspiration

#  Potential evapotranpiration

#  Cloud frequency at several levels

#  Precipitation
